Spain warming up to crypto?

Has the crypto awakening reached Spain? Its leading Partido Popular has introduced a bill that would allow for the payment of mortgages with crypto.

Spain is already a popular European place for real estate tokenization, which allows to easily invest even small sums of money into a property, which is then rented out and the profits shared among token owners.

Many real estate agencies also accept crypto as payments.

Mortgages, however, is a whole other story, involving historical crypto skeptics – banks. If the bill passes through, they might have to revise their stance, which, we believe, would only be beneficial for them. The bill itself recommends using blockchain as a system to manage mortgages and insurance, and streamline the payment of indemnities.
