Crypto mining eyeing carbon-neutrality

Bitcoin mining is not carbon-neutral, but it CAN become such. The recent Elon Musk’s eco- outburst can only highlight this trend.

Some of the latest projects include Argo miner, who not only agreed to create a green mining pool with another miner DMG, but also purchased two Canadian data centers powered by hydro energy. Argo and DMG also signed the Crypto Climate Accord – an initiative aiming at decarbonizing crypto mining.Following another route, Greenidge Generation chose to purchase voluntary carbon offsets to become carbon-neutral by the end of this month.

It’s not the energy consumption that matters, it’s where this energy comes from.
