Central bankers’ wishful thinking on crypto

It is amusing to watch central bankers freaking out about crypto. Today our thoughts go to Christine Lagarde from the ECB who is desperately trying to convince the general public that her institution must have the monopoly over money until the end of times.

In yesterday’s interview she said that “cryptos are highly speculative assets that claim their fame as currency, possibly, but they’re not.” To argument her opinion, she added “They are not”.

We are truly sorry that Madame Lagarde’s job is being threatened by the advent of independent money, but no amount of wishful thinking will change the fact that Bitcoin is used as a currency by millions of people, thousands of companies and even one country.
