Blockchain in space

On June 3rd Ethereum blockchain will become even more secure. An Ethereum node will be taken to the International Space Station by SpaceX and run from there, ensuring its independence from terrestrial services. Spacechain, the company that developed it, already sent a Bitcoin node into space in 2019, which is currently working from a satellite. The upcoming mission will also bring new-generation Bitcoin nodes to the ISS. The nodes have been created for Spacechain clients – crypto asset managers and custodians who wish to protect their transactions at the highest level.

The space has been interesting crypto enthusiasts for a long time now, because it provides an additional insurance to the blockchain. In 2017 Blockstream launched a satellite network that broadcasts the Bitcoin blockchain worldwide, so that everyone on Earth has access to it independently from the Internet connection.
