Positive crypto vibe starting in Tunisia

Its Minister of Finance announced his intentions of introducing crypto-friendly laws, that would notably “decriminalize” Bitcoin.
The news is more than welcome, especially after the recent outrageous arrest of a 17-year old Tunisian boy who used Bitcoins in his online activity. The absurd accusation of money laundering shows that Tunisian police stays largely ignorant of blockchain technology in the absence of any coherent law.
It may well be the indignation that followed this arrest that prompted the government to get a better look at crypto.

It’s about time that the regulators of the developing countries stop hindering innovation and give their people a possibility to become wealthier. In the meantime, the Chainalysis report shows that the nation that benefited the most from Bitcoin were the Americans, realizing over $4 Bn in gains in 2020. They are followed by the Chinese with much lower figure of $1.1 Bn.
